PROGRAM

Jeremy Vosburgh presented pictures and narration on his recent two-week trip to Korea.  He was sent to install a computer upgrade for a machine that tests steel, and instruct Koreans on its use.  He was accompanied on his travels by Korean representative Mr. Yu, who met him at the airport, and promptly deposited him at a “crappy” hotel on the edge of the “red light district”, which proved to be quite “noisy”.  Jeremy found the Koreans very knowledgeable in technology.  His free time was spent visiting other areas.  Koreans eating habits are strange to westerners; they eat horse and squirrel, among other things!  Kimchee, a red-hot spiced cabbage, is a popular dish, and the “national” drink is Soju, 25% alcohol!  All cars come equipped with GPS, and it is always used, even for short trips—everyone has them!  Korea’s fall is beautiful with brightly colored leaves.  The people seem to really want the reconciliation of North and South Korea, and have many posters and statues touting the union.  Seoul has been greatly improved, and is a good city to visit—probably the only one in the country!

HAPPY DOLLARS

$       Bob Pasquarelli:  Had a great weekend in NYC with the grandkids, visiting Radio City and F.A.O. Schwartz Toy Store!

$       Chris Blais:  Glad Armand is back!  Thankful for all the kids who helped with Bells of Life!

$       Joe Cub:  Very interesting program!  Also for last night’s football game—the Eagles won!

$       Skip Patton:  My brother-in-law visited over the holiday, and because his health has been improving, we were able to visit Cooperstown’s Baseball Hall of Fame!

$       Dick Johnsen:  Apologies for missing working on the Food Trailer due to oral surgery.  Had a great Thanksgiving with many family members!

$       Peg Weiss:  Wonderful Thanksgiving with 4 grandkids in Charlotte, NC.  Grandson in culinary school cooked the feast in great style—and made it look easy!  However, the marathon 16-hour drive down Wed and back Sat was a first and last event!

$       Barb Fioravanti:  Really enjoyed the Kiwanis fund-raising trip to Italy with Jean Andrick!  There were only 13 of us so we got lots of personal attention!

$       Jim Colabelli:  Spent a happy Thanksgiving with my wife’s family!  And the reason I haven’t attended Legion meetings since joining is because they’re on the first Mon. nights!

$       Dale Hall:  At the Hudson Valley Resort, our Key Club Lt Gov was voted “most improved!”

$       Armand Mills:  I made it to Charlotte in 11 hours!  Found local kids to care for my dog!

$       Pres Joe:  Thanks to a sympathetic NYC judge who ruled in favor of allowing my daughter-in-law’s show, Dr Seuss, to go on, she’s acting on stage again!

DOOR PRIZE, another bottle of naked wine, provided by Jeremy, won by Fred Wurtemberger!

50/50 for $21 was won by Dudley Dorr!

MEGA 50/50, tonight worth $265.60, foiled the attempt of Bill Whipple to find the King of Clubs!  It was close, though.  Bill drew the ACE of Clubs from the remaining 33 cards!
