PROGRAM

Club Bulletin Chair Peg Weiss again described the process of producing our weekly Sandpiper.  She takes notes at each meeting, and then spends the following day composing, typing, printing, folding, and mailing about 15 copies to our members without Internet access.  Each issue is e-mailed to Dave Booker, who adds music and pictures, posts it to our Website, and then e-mails “the world” announcing its availability.  For the most part, this works out well, but there are occasions when we need some help:  someone to take notes during the meeting when the Editor is absent.  Dave has multiple duties each week as Club Secretary, and cannot do justice to both jobs.  Jim Colabelli has volunteered previously, and Barb Fioravanti agreed to try.  We appreciate your assistance!  Committee Chairs were offered the availability of printing their work schedules and/or announcements.  People sign lots of sheets, and they do forget when their responsibilities occur.  The Sandpiper can serve as a reminder of times and places, as well as a record of happenings at meetings.  SLK is a very busy club, with many activities, and the weekly bulletin is important to maintain a connection with absent members, and as a tool of communication to our own members, as well as to other clubs to which it is sent.  It requires many hours of work, but it’s a labor of love.  All we ask in return, folks, is to PLEASE READ IT!

HAPPY DOLLARS

$       Dale:  Finished up cardio tests at Albany Med, and all appears well!  Also glad to hear of the Key Club activities—it seems reports are lagging!

$       Barb:  Happy both Key Club presidents are here, and I also helped the Girl Scouts paint their project house in Sand Lake this weekend!

$       Chris:  For each Key Club having increased its membership!

$       Jim Rogers:  As a member of the Mayflower Descendants, I attended their meeting Saturday, and read the proclamation from Gov Spitzer stating November 21 celebrates the 386th anniversary of the signing of the Mayflower Compact by the Pilgrims in 1620 at Plymouth, MA.

$       Fred:  Talking about Provincetown…….I didn’t see any May flowers there.  But I took a trip to Atlantic Beach, NC, and saw some great sunsets!

$       Tysiak:  Well, I didn’t go to P’town OR Atlantic Beach, but we went to Myrtle Beach, and then on to Colonial Williamsburg with family.  Glad the Food Trailer did so well in my absence, and that Bob has made arrangements for the Christmas trees.

$       Joe Cub:  Must be beach time—we went to Bethany Beach, Delaware!  Also appreciate our electoral process—everybody get out and vote tomorrow!

$       John Glasser:  In case anyone didn’t know, I got married Oct 12th and had a great 2-week honeymoon in Hawaii!  Everything was perfect!  Thanks for the nice card, thanks for the Legion of Honor, and I’m also thankful that the election campaign is over!

$       Allison:  For my new K-Family friends!  I participated in a crew race, and we didn’t LOSE!  I also went to NYC and toured a Coast Guard boat (I’m planning on enlisting)!  And, my cousin Sebastian just got baptized!

$       Pres Joe:  Happy to have presided over the Columbia Key Club meeting, and look forward to Averill Park’s on Thursday!

DOOR PRIZES, provided by Barb & Peg, were won by Botsy and Allison!

50/50 for $23 was won by Jerry Tysiak!

MEGA 50/50 beat us again, despite John Glasser’s best ESP efforts—he picked the Jack of Spades from the 36 cards, so the $221.10 will grow again for next week!
