s
banner.
Ø Thank you note with a $50 donation received from Salem UMC for use of tents at fair.
Ø John Brownrigg presented a request from the Poestenkill PTA for our Food Trailer on Sat Oct 20th. Refused due to no staff/transport available; trailer in use every Sunday!
Ø Mikki reported on attendance at WSL PTA meeting (1st Weds). Would like SLKs to attend meetings of the other 3 schools. WSL’s major fundraiser is named pickets for a fence.
OCTOBER BIRTHDAYS: Joe Cybulski and Bob Reiter (neither was present)
OCTOBER ANNIVERSARIES: Bill & Betty Jean Whipple, and Chet & Meg Melius (normally there would ber a picture of the members present who had either a birthday or anniversary this month but as there was no photographer present at the meeting a member adept in court room artistry rendered the likeness of Bill shown to the right)
Bill was serenaded badly, but we did enjoy Eve’s delicious pumpkin cake!
PROGRAM
Spiritual Aims Chair Jim Colabelli, superbly prepared for his presentation of the duties of his committee, named his cohorts: Dick Johnsen, Bob Pasquarelli, and Jeremy Vosburgh. He took credit for the weekly Spiritual Thought in the Sandpiper, loaning tents to churches, observance of monthly birthdays & anniversaries, the SummerFest Ecumenical service, use of signs by churches, unloading of food at Doors of Hope, Clergy Recognition Night, collection & distribution of holiday gifts and food baskets, and the advocacy of the 6 Objects of Kiwanis (which went unnamed)! All this was slowly and deliberately enumerated, followed at the conclusion by a collective AMEN!
HAPPY DOLLARS
$ Pres Joe, for last week’s great installation dinner party which followed a wonderful week and a half in Wales in very pleasant company!
$ Mikki, for a good PTA connection, and for such a great time in the Food Trailer yesterday!
$ Joe Trupia, for finally being able to attend a meeting, (no orchestra due to the holiday)!
$ Botsy: I sold a box of nuts for $10…….only 999 left!
$ Fred: Missed the installation due to a visit from a cousin from Germany—we went to the Art Museum in Canajoharie. And I did NOT have a date with that transvestite on Cape Cod! I was too short and we never got together!
$ Colabelli, for a wonderful visit from my daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter Emma Rose ("would any one like to see a picture?"). We went to Goold’s Festival, but Emma didn’t like my beard!
$ IPP Bob: I’m so glad they let me sit at Dale’s table! Now that I’m not president any more, I didn’t know where to go!
$ Dale Hall: In memory of Tony Palangi, a really good guy.
Due to the meager Columbus Day attendance, we had six lasagna dinners to offer. Four were purchased at half price, and 2 were won on door prize tickets by Gary Meislin and Skip Patton.
DOOR PRIZE, a bottle of Bailey’s provided by Jim Colabelli, was won by Nancy Patton!
50/50 for $16 was ALSO won by Nancy Patton! You should come more often!
MEGA 50/50 would have been worth $171.10, but Peg could only come up with the Ace of Diamonds out of the 39 remaining cards…..so…..it will grow, and grow some more!
