Ø       Pres Bob recognized and thanked all who served during the past year especially the 2006-07 Board of Directors.  Committee chairs were given thank you gifts, each different and each appropriate:  Barb Fioravanti for working with the Columbia HS Key Club; Kelly Stone for Sponsored Youth; Eve Ward for Socials; Peg Weiss for the weekly Sandpiper; Kathy Evensen (abs) for Community Services; IPP Alison Greene for Youth Services; Joe Cybulski for Public Relations; Joe Trupia (abs) for Senior Services; VP Jerry Tysiak for Auditing; Chet Melius for Membership; Dudley Dorr for House & Meetings; Treas Deacon Bob Pasquarelli for Spiritual Aims; Fred Wurtemberger (abs) for Interclubs; John Brownrigg for Community Services; Chris Blais for the Averill Park Key Club; and Pres-Elect Joe Behson for Ways & Means.


 

 

 

Ø       SPECIAL AWARDS

John Glasser was honored for 25 years of Kiwanis service.

PHILIP S. PIERCE MEMORIAL MEMBERSHIP AWARD, for bringing in new

 members, to Pablo Martinez (abs), Jim Colabelli, and Bob Loveridge.

KIWANIAN OF THE YEAR 2006-07 is John Brownrigg!

KIWANIS LEADERSHIP SOCIETY AWARD, new from Kiwanis International,

was presented to our Distinguished Secretary David Booker!

 

 

INSTALLATION

          Lt Gov Gale Leva advised Lt Gov-Elect Jim Rogers to heed the proceedings, as he will be doing this next year!  LG Gale thanked the 06-07 Board of Directors for their service, and installed John Brownrigg, Jim Colabelli, and Peg Weiss for their 3-year term.  She then proceeded to list the duties of each office as she installed Sand Lake Kiwanis Club’s officers for 2007-08:

In addition, Sec Dave was given a new Kiwanis mouse pad so he could continue his work on our Club’s website!  New President Joe was presented with a Golden Ruler and a plaque, and his 15-year Perfect Attendance tab was pinned on by his son Scott!

          As one of his first duties as president, Joe presented Jerry Tysiak with a check from Kevin and Cheryl Smith, proceeds from a BBQ held at their Voorheesville store opening, for the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Unit at Albany Med.  IPP Bob was given an “Elvis” card of “Thank you, thank you very much!” Pres Joe thanked Eve and Dudley for their work on a wonderful dinner.  The evening concluded with music for dancing by April Marie and Mr. Brown.
