Anyone who worked and did not receive a SummerFest shirt, please notify Sec Dave. Botsy had his picture in the Record, and Booker was interviewed on Channel 9! |

PROGRAM
Social Chair Eve Ward outlined some of the accomplishments of her committee this year: made reservations and picked up tickets for the Valley Cats baseball game; circulated signup sheets for in house special dinners and parties (please be responsible to sign up either yes or no, and when you sign up, SHOW UP!); decorated tables for special parties; organized the SummerFest Recovery Picnic, including the Banjo Band; holiday party last December for seniors at Brookside; planning for fall trip to Maine in October, with interclub at York, bocce ball on the beach, shopping, happy hours in motel rooms, dinners out, Harvest Festival. Greeting cards are purchased in advance so that when the occasion arises, cards are sent in a timely fashion. The annual steak & lobster roast will be on Sept 8th at Tsatsawassa Lake again. |
HAPPY DOLLARS |
Chris Blais: for 19 years with Robin, for Eve’s Social Committee and her great cakes, and for Bob Loveridge’s superb job making SummerFest successful despite a flood! |
KVP: I’m lucky to be here, after having a gangrenous gall bladder removed. I was “out of it” for 8 days, and spent 10 days in the hospital. Survived due to Jane’s good nursing care! Also happy to be part of a club like this one, where we care for and support each other. Both daughters (and a granddaughter) came to visit from CA & CO to see if Dad was still with us! I was worried about the Yankees, but now the fat lady is getting ready to sing in Boston! |
Eve, for the happiest grin on my grandson Ethan’s face when he got the first ride in Dave’s new convertible, even if he did have to lug chairs! |
Jim Colabelli, for my son’s wedding in Tennessee, where I got to play golf for the 1st time, and because my injured finger is healing well. (Careful how you display THAT finger, Jim!) |
John Brownrigg: (A long, complicated, involved, and convoluted story about a trailer and a truck—HUH? John, I need an advance copy of the script of your stories!) I won a bet with my wife for spending less than 12 hours working on SummerFest for the first time! |
Jim Rogers, for a wonderful time at the Governor’s official visit—great picnic, and good job by all 3 Lt Governors! |
Fred Jeschke, for putting up with me for five years! |
Pres Alison: I was so impressed with this Club for pitching in after the flooding of SummerFest, and turning a disaster into a success! |
Booker, for my NEW CAR! |
Gary: Kathy hasn’t told us a joke in months, so I will! A princess was taking a walk, came to a fork in the road (and she wasn’t even eating!), and saw a lily pond with a frog sitting there. He begged her to please kiss him so he would turn back into the prince he was before. He promised to be all hers so she could cook, scrub, have his kids, do his laundry, and love him nightly. The princess replied, “I think NOT”, and that night she dined on frog’s legs and white wine! MORAL: Don’t give women too much information! |

DOOR PRIZE, provided by Eve, was won by Pres Alison! |
50/50 for $20 was won by Ken Noland, who donated it back to the Club! Thanks, Ken! |
MEGA 50/50 worth $549 tonight eluded even John Brownrigg, who picked the 6 of Hearts from the remaining 19 cards. Getting close, folks! |
