PROGRAM

Pres Bob reviewed the aspects of SummerFest 2007.  A signup sheet for workers in the Food Tent was circulated, and very FEW volunteered.  This is our biggest project, and the most visible one to the community.  Members must support this to the fullest extent of their ability!  Remember that our previous leaders in the operation of the always-busy Food Tent will be away at the International Convention.  Sarah Tripp will be available from noon Sat & Sun; the trailer will be used on Friday.  Veggie Prep will be Friday at 4 PM.  Coolers and outdoor extension cords are requested from all who can loan them—please IDENTIFY them so they can be properly returned.

Chairs, tables, large tent, & grill coming from Tremont’s, propane to be procured from Ackner’s.

Parade, with 3 Grand Marshals, will BEGIN at 11 AM, arriving at the Park by noon.  Flag raising ceremony will include SL Chorale.  Microphones will be set up.  A Black Hawk helicopter will do a fly-over, and possibly a landing.  Fireworks and The Refrigerators (main band) are all set for Sunday PM; other bands will be performing on both Friday and Saturday.  The Road Race (Skip Patton), Softball (John Glasser) & Tennis (Clayton Besch) tournaments, and Talent Show (Mikki McSherry) are ready to go.  Security has been planned with both the Sheriff’s Dept and the State Police, who will do frequent night drive-bys of the Park.  Jerry Tysiak reported about $15,000 in both in-kind and cash sponsorships.  Shirts & parking permits to be available next week.
