On behalf of the Club and the Youth Services Committee, Kelly Stone presented certificates for computer setups and one year of tech support to Max Fletcher, Michael Agosting, and Ashley Gryboski.

 

LEGION OF HONOR was awarded to Frank Breselor for 30 years’ membership!

              

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Ø       DIVISION COUNCIL this Wednesday May 2nd at Castleton:  Booker, Colabelli, Hall, Pasquarelli, Rogers, Weiss, and Wurtemberger to attend.  Items for Jean’s campaign fundraiser auction include a Coleman cooler, a wine rack, a bottle of wine, and a Barnes & Noble gift certificate “of unknown value”!

Ø       Meet The Candidates for Governor-Elect at Mohawk Division, Saratoga Senior Center, #5 Williams St, Saratoga Springs, at 10 AM Saturday May 12th.

Ø       Brownrigg:  Naturalization Ceremony for new Americans 9 AM Wed May 2 at APHS.

Ø       BLOOD CLINIC Sat May 19th at APHS signup sheet for shifts from 6-8 and 8-9:30 AM.

 

PROGRAM

Barbara Fioravanti introduced outgoing Division 18 Key Club Lt Gov Megan Sanzo from Columbia HS who thanked the outgoing officers from both Averill Park and Columbia for their outstanding work this past year:  Columbia’s Pres Elizabeth Spink, VP Melissa Hahn, Secretary Jasmine Pagan, Treasurer Chelsea Johnson, Publicity Chair Julie Michels.  Averill Park’s Pres Laurel Zimmer, VP Connor Blais, Sec Beth Derderian, Treas Marlee Blasenheim, Pub & Web Weston Raab, Project Coordinator Drew Edmonds.  Megan then introduced Div 18’s new Lt Gov Beth Derderian from Averill Park, who installed both new slates of officers:  For Averill Park, Pres Casey Pendergast, VP Sarah Dill, Sec Sarah Lounsbery, Treas Marlee Blasenheim, Pub & Web Grace Rosenberg, Project Coord Drew Edmonds.  For Columbia, Pres Allison Lashmet, VP Melissa Hahn, Sec Kara Eaton, Treas Scott Boyle, Publicity Melissa Hahn, Project Coord Andrew Dunham.

 

           

NY District Key Club Committee Rep Dale Hall presented Past Lt Gov Megan with the Martin Fellowship Award, plaque and medal, in recognition of her outstanding leadership.   All the young people, together with parents and Kiwanis members, recited the Key Club Pledge, and then the kids chanted their traditional “Beaver Dam,” noting that the beaver is NY State’s official animal, and also is the Key Club mascot.  Pres Bob thanked all officers, both outgoing and incoming, for their enthusiasm and hard work on many projects for worthy causes, and invited all the parents to join Sand Lake Kiwanis!

 

HAPPY DOLLARS

$       Sarah Tripp:  Sorry I missed being Greeter tonight.  Am I really up for Vice President?

$       Booker:  Noted a dark animal on my 6-ft high bird feeder that turned out to be a VERY large brown bear!

$       Chris Blais, for the opportunity to work with such great kids!

$       Connor Blais:  Hope the incoming officers do a better job than I did!

$       Barb:  1 for AP, 1 for Columbia, and 1 for Dale and District 18 of Key Club!

$       Jim Colabelli, for a great trip visiting son & daughter-in-law in Atlanta, where it was nice and warm.  Summer’s coming, maybe by September!  Also for being part of such a great group of enthusiastic kids with so much potential!

$       Jim Driscoll (CHS advisor):  Our officers are mostly sophomores, so we have great times ahead for our Key Club!

$       Weston Raab, for the ongoing and ever going success of Key Club!

$       Megan Sanzo, happy quarters & nickels for Mr Hall, Mr Blais, Mrs Fioravanti, and my Key Club at Columbia!  I’m off to college!!

 

DOOR PRIZES, provided by Chris & Barb, were won by Fred Wurtemberger & Mrs Rosenberg!

50/50 for $20 was won by Pres Bob!

MEGA 50/50 keeps growing!  PLG Chet tried to find the King, but got only the 9 of Clubs!

So the $478.50 is safe for another week!
