PROGRAM

          Distinguished Immediate Past President Alison Greene introduced Jim Rogers, whom she had asked to collect pictures from her administrative year.  Jim spent over 40 hours on the project, with Chet’s help, and they presented a wonderful program, complete with background music, of many of the events and projects of Alison’s year.  Almost all members were depicted, in one way or another, and our amazing SummerFest flood was prominently featured!  We saw some of the last pictures of our dear Phil Pierce, the transformation of Chris Blais from full beard to baby face, and some more compromising photos of several other members!  Following this thoroughly enjoyable program, DIPP {Now, THAT’S a very compromising anachronism!} Alison presented the awards won by SLK that were awarded at the Midwinter Conference:  The Prout Past Governor’s Bulletin Award, Silver Section, to ED Peg; The Public Relations Award to Joe Cub; The Distinguished Club Award; Distinguished Secretary to Dave; and the Business and Civic Affairs Award.  Alison was awarded the lapel pin for Distinguished President, followed by a standing ovation for a great job!

HAPPY DOLLARS

$       Joe Cub, for the PR award!

$       Alison, for Jim’s outstanding program, and for Distinguished President!

$       Nancy Davis, for being Gary’s guest, and for his teaching her how to smile!

$       Chris, for the great Key Club Convention at Kutcher’s this past weekend!  The snow didn’t help—so many couldn’t come—but those who did put on a terrific program.  Presented the convention pin to Barb, who was one of the many who couldn’t make it.  Averill Park and Columbia arrived late on Saturday.  AP was awarded a patch for supporting UNICEF, for an outstanding club, for 1st place fundraising for Alzheimer’s Disease, and Elizabeth Darderian was recognized as an outstanding Lt Governor!

$       Dale, not to be outdone, gave more details on the Key Club Convention, noting the training sessions at JavaNet Beanery.  About 850 kids attended Convention (usual number is 1200), but they are all an outstanding bunch of kids.  Dale presented a convention shirt to Barb.

$       Barb, a SAD dollar, for being prevented from attending.  The Columbia HS bus was cancelled due to the deep snow and bad roads, and she was not permitted to drive students.

$       Jim Rogers, for Chet’s help with the AV equipment.  Also, at Tuesday night’s Division Council meeting, Chet became a DISTINGUISHED Immed Past Lt Gov, Alison became Dist Immed Past Pres, and Dave a Distinguished Secretary!  {ED note:  Jim modestly left out the fact that he was elected Lt Gov-Elect for 2007-08!  Another Lt Gov from Sand Lake!}

$       Kevin Sarsfield:  3 weeks ago in Florida it was 98 degrees, then on Hilton Head it was 78, and now I’m freezing, and came home to three funerals!  {This is a HAPPY dollar?}

$       Chet:  There’s a new business in town, almost next door to Botsy:  a recycling center!

$       Jim Colabelli:  My daughter and son-in-law have decided to have a child, and we now know it’s going to be a GIRL!

$       Booker, Thanks to the Club for earning me "Distinguished Secretary!"

$       Gary:  I AM smiling!  My son came home from DC, started my lawn mower (?) for me, and then it SNOWED!  I went out and I pulled, and I pulled, and I pulled—it wouldn’t start!  So I shoveled the end of my driveway, but I still got the truck stuck halfway out in the road!  Didn’t think it was too smart to leave it there, then remembered it had 4WD, so I tried it for the 1st time, and it worked!  But I couldn’t figure out how to turn it off, so I had to leave the truck with Tom Miller.  Remember the old story:  “For drawing the X, I charge you $1.  For KNOWING where to draw the X, the charge is $99!”  And, it’s my grandson’s 3rd birthday!

DOOR PRIZE, provided by Alison, was won by Barb!

50/50 for $21 was won by Alison!

MEGA 50/50, grown to $383, defeated Jim Colabelli, who, despite all his incantations, picked the 4 of Diamonds from the remaining 28 cards!
